Banda Calypso was assembled in Belém, the state capital of Pará in Brazil, in late 90s by the couple Chimbinha and Joelma. Restricted to Brazil's northern musical circuit in their early days, Calypso today enjoys great success countrywide. Well known for catchy and simplistic lyrics mixed up with highly danceable music, Calypso is the latest fever in Brazil, attracting hundreds of people to their shows, wherever they play (and also attracting the rage of more intellectualized music listeners, who refute their songs as annoying, repetitive, futile and empty).

They met in 1999, when he was hired to arrange what was supposed to be Joelma's solo album; however, it ended up as Calypso's first. Before Calypso, Chimbinha (real name Cledivan) was a prominent popular music arranger and musician in Belém, Pará. Paying homage to his poor origins, he refused to sign with an international label so they could keep the production costs low, in order to sell their albums to the most popular levels of society. This helps to reduce piracy, in his opinion, as well as increasing the penetration of the band amongst the audience. As of today, Calypso has recorded 9 albums on CD, and three live DVDs. George Benson - Inside Love So Personal - Rock in Rio 1985 Benson was born and raised in the Hill District in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and attended Schenley High School. He now lives in Englewood, New Jersey's Bergen County. Benson started out playing straight-ahead instrumental jazz with organist Jack McDuff. Benson got his first experience playing with his several-year stint with McDuff's group. At the age of 21, Benson recorded his first album as leader, The New Boss Guitar, with Brother Jack McDuff on organ. Benson's next recording was It's Uptown with the George Benson Quartet with Lonnie Smith on organ and Ronnie Cuber on baritone sax. This album showcases Benson's talent in constructing swinging bebop lines at blistering tempos. Benson followed it up with The George Benson Cookbook, also with Lonnie Smith and Ronnie Cuber. Miles Davis employed Benson's talents in the mid 1960s; Benson played guitar on Paraphenalia, which appeared on the trumpeter's 1967 Columbia release, Miles in the Sky. He went to Verve Records for a spell afterwards. Then, Creed Taylor signed him up for his CTI label, where he recorded numerous albums with jazz heavyweights guesting to limited financial success. Benson also did his versions of The Beatles' 1969 album Abbey Road which he entitled, The Other Side Of Abbey Road (also released in 1969) and "White Rabbit", (the best known version of which was recorded by Jefferson Airplane), around this time. By the mid to late 1970's, as he recorded for Warner Bros. Records (he had recently signed with them ... Whiskeytown Forever Valentine

Whiskeytown was an alt-country band from Raleigh, North Carolina founded in 1994 and fronted by Ryan Adams along with violinist Caitlin Cary. The band produced a number of albums before ultimately parting ways in 2000.Other members of the group included guitarists Mike Daly and Phil Wandscher, bassist Steve Grothmann and drummer Skillet Gilmore.Adams and Cary have publicly talked of reuniting Whiskeytown on multiple occasions, as recently as 2005, but as of yet, nothing new has materialized. The two did perform together briefly, along with Skillet Gilmore, on June 8, 2005, in Raleigh.
